Hello everyone! I am so excited to get this school year. My name is Savanna Mize and I am the new Gifted Education teacher at L.E. Willson Elementary! This is my second year teaching, not including one year as a special education aide at Central Elementary. I previously taught 3rd grade at Harlan Elementary School in Florence. I am originally from Florence, AL, but have lived in Muscle Shoals for the last 5 years.

I am recetly married as of April 6, 2019. My husband is also a history teacher at Muscle Shoals Middle School and is a football and wrestling coach. We have a 4 year old son named Ty. He absolutely adores what his daddy does and we spend most of our year at a field or court! 

In our (little) spare time, I love to spend time as a family, reading, playing with our 7-month old puppy, Molly, and binge watching Netflix shows! After finishing my bachelors, I began at UNA to earn my masters degree in education. I am currently half way through and plan to one day pursue my Education Specialist degree. 

I am beyond blessed and excited to be a part of the LEW family this year and cannot wait to my students! Go Bulldogs!!!
