Sheffield City Schools' Community Involvement Program encompasses special programs within the district. We have a 21st Century Extended Day Program for K-8 students. Information is available in each school office.
Through Community Involvement, we have implemented a school-based mentoring program in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Shoals. Teresa Tucker serves as the Coordinator for this program and can be reached at 256-383-0400.
Sherri Baker serves as Sheffield City Schools Community Coordinator and has served as a State Board Member and Officer (including President) of the Alabama Community Education Association. Baker holds a BS and MA in Business Education and an Ed.S in Teacher Leadership and has secured multi-millions as a grant writer for the district. Baker is a certified COMP trainer and also serves as the Testing Coordinator and SDE Teacher Mentor Liaison. She also works with work-base learning students and career tech programs within the district. Special programs serving parents and students have been implemented through Community Involvement.
