I am employed as the English Language Learners Tutor. I will assist children with using the English language effectively. My job is;
to help to improve children's actual listening, speaking, reading and writing developmental needs.
to assist meeting specific needs of the English Language Learners’ families.
Culturally diverse environments are stimulating and there are many challenges as I learn to interact socially within our diverse communities of Sheffield City Schools.
My professional bachelor degree is in Early Childhood Education from the University of Illinois. My Elementary, Early Childhood, and Education Administration degrees are at the Master of Art’s Level from University of North Alabama. My Education Specialist degree is from the University of North Alabama in the areas of curriculum development.
My professional experiences derive from severing as a teacher in the Florence City Schools System and the Kilby Laboratory School of the University of North Alabama. While in northern Nigeria I taught at the Ahmadu Bello University. I had the pleasure to teach at the American International School of Lome in Togo (West Africa). Several years were spent teaching within the International Baccalaureate Organization, Primary Years Program, in Ghana (West Africa).
Painting, home restoration and sewing are my interests. Reading and cooking are spare time enjoyments. My husband, Uzo is retired. We have been married for many years. We are fortunate to have four lovely grandchildren and the proud parents of four successful offsprings.
I once read;
"Teach the children so it will not be necessary to teach the adults." Abraham Lincoln
"It is not enough to do your best; you must know what to do, and then do your best." W. Edwards Deming
It is my hope that the 2016/2017 school year will be Sheffield City Schools best year ever.
