Steve Hargrove was named General Manager for TVA's 11 Combustion Turbine Generating sites in September 2008. As GM, he is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, engineering, and outage activities for the 11 fossil plants and insuring safe, reliable, cost effective and environmentally acceptable production of power. Steve previously served for 8 years as Plant Manager of TVA's Colbert Fossil Plant.
Steve started his TVA career in 1976 at age 16 in a youth opportunity program at Colbert Fossil Plant. Steve worked part time with TVA while attending high school and college. His career has lead him to work at numerous TVA sites; Wilson & Wheeler Hydro, Gallatin & Allen Fossil Plants in Tennessee, and the Corporate Offices in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Steve attended Sheffield High School (1977), University of North Alabama, and Vanderbilt University-Owen Graduate School of Management (TVA Emerging Leadership Development).
Steve serves on the Sheffield Board of Education, Board of Directors for Helen Keller Hospital, The United Leukodystrophy Foundation of Illinois, Muscle Shoals Area Combined Federal Campaign, and Colbert County Sports Hall of Fame. With TVA, Steve serves as the South Regional Diversity Council Representative.
Steve is a member of York Terrace Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon and co-Sunday School teacher.
Steve is married to Lori and they have a daughter and son, Hannah and Russ. Hannah recently married (June 18th 2009) to Jacob Bishop.
