Sheffield City Schools - Established 1888. This historic building currently houses the central office staff.
A Proud Tradition
The Sheffield City School System serves approximately 1200 students pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. We have a proud tradition of providing an excellent education through a highly qualified teaching staff. The Sheffield campus consists of Threadgill Primary (pre-k - 2); L.E. Willson Elementary (3 - 6); Sheffield Junior High (7-8); Sheffield High School (9-12); a historic central office facility; and our adult literacy home which currently houses the HIPPY program.

  1. To meet or exceed the minimum requirements for adequate yearly progress set by the state
  2. To actively engage all students in a challenging curriculum supported by research-based instructional strategies
  3. To assess, for continuous improvement, all available human, financial, and physical resources
  4. To maintain a safe environment in well maintained facilities
