To enhance communication between parents and school, The Sheffield City School District is now using the SchoolCast Rapid Alert and Notification System as the primary means of contacting parents and faculty with urgent notifications and other time-sensitive communications. Both emergency (school closings, critical health events, etc.) and non-emergency communications (event reminders, attendance calls, etc.) can be sent immediately as a phone call, e-mail bulletin and/or text alert.
Caller ID Control - Each Sheffield City School can have their own school number showing when their school sends out a message through their SchoolCast account if desired. The district office can have the district number showing or the SchoolCast toll free replay line number.
Sheffield City Schools will continue to report school closings due to snow or weather on radio and local television stations and will use this system as an overlay to the public announcements.
