The Bell

The Bell is a publication of Sheffield City Schools which highlights student achievements and activities. The Bell received its name from the old Sheffield Alabama Avenue School bell that used to ring signaling the start and ending of school. That bell is still housed at the Sheffield City Board of Education Central Office. The Bell is published four times per school year and distributed to every household in Sheffield City through a partnership with the Courier Journal. The Bell is also mailed to our "Partners in Education" through the Sheffield Education Foundation. Sheffield City School Community Coordinator Sherri Baker serves as the Editor. A special "Thank You" to the ladies of the community who volunteer to fold and to Joy Byars who coordinates distribution.
