Sheffield City Schools was awarded a competitive grant in order to provide the ACCESS program at Sheffield High School. The grant provided equipment for a distance learning lab, including laptops, video equipment, smart board, and cameras. In 2012 Sheffield received an additional grant to upgrade the equipment. The lab is located in the Sheffield High School Media Center.

Students have the opportunity to take Internet-delivered or video-conferencing courses from school systems across the state. Sheffield teachers deliver instruction in Latin and Spanish to other school systems.
