The Sheffield City Police Department is located a few blocks from the school campus

It is the goal of Sheffield City Schools to provide a safe and secure environment which is conducive to learning. Support is provided through a variety of initiatives. A School Resource Officer is provided through a partnership with the Sheffield City Police Department. Officer Henry Green works to maintain an excellent, cooperative relationship with all local law enforcement agencies. Regular safety checks include lockdown drills, safety walk-throughs with school administration, and routine scheduling and use of drug dogs on the school campuses. Safety programs are provided each year for the faculty and students. Sheffield Junior and Senior High Schools have maintained a random drug testing program for the past four years. Technology is also employed in the form of video surveillance cameras and electronic communication systems. Students, parents, employees, and the community are all involved in making sure our schools are safe.
